We're continuing a movement
Beginning in 2016, NAMI of Kent County brought NAMI Walks to West Michigan. We are the second NAMI affiliate in the State of Michigan to host a walk, and we’ve gotten a great response. We’re continuing that tradition in 2020 on Saturday, October 10th.
This year, due to Covid-19, we are doing a virtual walk, called "A National Day of Hope". Signing up is still the same as previous years, and as always, sponsorship opportunities are available. More details are on the walk website.

Every single year we’ve hosted the walk, we’ve had a great turnout. This translates directly to more funding for programs we need right here in Kent County. Because of funds raised from the walk, we’ve been able to educate volunteers so we can continue to offer Family to Family classes and support groups.
Fifty percent of all funds raised in support of NAMI Kent County stay right here in Kent County. Forty percent goes to NAMI Michigan so ninety percent stays locally. The remaining ten percent supports our national organization which develops and maintains the NAMI signature classes we share with our community.
At the NAMIWalks website, you can either join a team or start your own as captain. Help us continue to change the world, both for the nation and for Kent County!
